It's got a lot to do with having a sense of humour.
Television: objective viewing.
Maybe it's got something to do with being strong enough to maintain your
own beliefs/identity while emersing yourself in anothers.

Perhaps some fear the loss of their current belief structure. 
If one's current belief structure is so fragile, 
perhaps it's not worth maintaining.

I don't believe in the idea of only two major beliefs or realities.
You can see things as they are and then 
develop your own strategy of dealing with it. 
That's what impresses me about the idea of the Pop artist; 
seeing the system as a sham yet using their insight in a playful manner, 
sharing it, and making a comfortable living out of it.
Getting annoyed in an unconstructive manner isn't good for anyone. 
The best feeling in the world is love... 
Hate is so mediocre in comparison... 
no one enjoys feeling bad no matter how pretentiously they justify it.
