While it is always nice that partying may somehow benefit
those less fortunate than us,
let us remember that nothing is black & white.
Let us not paint Serbians black & NATO white.

Ravers are aware of how fucked nationalism is.
The next couple of paragraphs are simply ammunition for educating any
non-internet, tabloid-reading ignoramuses you might get the opportunity
to chat to.

a) NATO had no legal right (according to its own laws!)
   to intervene in Kosovo.
b) If the US are really concerned with helping save lives then how
   come The Gulf War cost over 1 billion $US *a*day*,
   the Kosovo War even more (reports of about double),
   yet Aids research gets 1 billion $US *a*year*?
c) Australia & USA (in fact everyone except Italy & Germany)
   refused to recognise Croatia's declaration independence from 
   Yugoslavia/Serbia a few years earlier.
d) The Kosovo Liberation Army caused much of the death of its own people.

The people of Kosovo, in their desperation (57% unemployment in 1989!)
supported the Kosovo Liberation Army.
The KLA knew that attacking the Serb minority in Kosovo would lead to
retaliation from Serbia in such a way as to make NATO intervention
inevitable. The so-called massacre in Racak that sparked the NATO bombings
was questioned by two French newspapers.
It seems to have actually been a skirmish between Serb police & the KLA.
The KLA later dressed their dead in civilian clothes,
and no spent cartridges or blood was found at the "massacre" site.
Now NATO finally has its long-term military base for operations
within the region.
