Schizophrenics in Good Health uphold eminent psychologist R D Laing's suggestion of 
what it is to be a 'mentally sound' person in an unhealthy world.

The UN's World Health Organisation statistics show that this "disease"
is more than twice as prevalent in the "developed" West. 
70's progressive rock legends KingCrimson forsaw all of this in the lyrics of
"21st Century Schizoid Man".

It is time to explore if perhaps it is not this new mindset that is the problem,
but the *resistance* to (and fear of) this change that is the problem(?)
Anyone living an affluent, "ordered" life would be scared to lose
their social stature should such a paradigm shift level the playing field.

If you can think of some people whith Schizophrenic attributes
(which are slippery to define anyhow) 
who would not benefit from a new paradigm
ask yourself if perhaps it is not necessarily the "schizophrenia"
that is their problem(?)

Maybe their schizophrenia is part of what should be normal soulsearching
the way that some suggest depression is.
No doubt such soulsearching can be information overload for some especially
in a society that alienates those people.

Kazimierz Dabrowski in his theory of Positive Disintegration
describes a theory of personality and personality development.
Unlike mainstream psychology, Dabrowski's theoretical framework views psychological tension, 
anxiety, and depression as necessary for growth.
These "disintegrative" processes are therefore seen as "positive," 
whereas people who fail to go through positive disintegration 
may remain for their entire lives in a state of "negative integration," unquestioning and unaware.

John David Garcia wrote a book called "Psychofraud and Ethical Therapy"
which is claimed in Wikipedia to be
"a condemnation of contemporary psychotherapy 
based upon its failure to begin with moral purpose".
In a review
it is suggested that "A major element in Ethical Therapy is learning to live with doubt.
According to Garcia:
"To understand Ethical Therapy is to doubt its validity".
