A friend told me she needed to buy new swimming goggles.
What a coincidence!
That very week I came across some crude blue-black carpet nail/tacks
that my house-mate was working with.
They looked beautiful in their own way and I thought of a way to use them;
but it required goggles. And now some goggles turned up.

I super-glued the tacks to the outside of the goggles, pointing outwards.
They looked like long eyelases.
I covered the goggle rims in glitter, deadly playfulness. Irony.

To further the irony I placed small loveheart stickers,
the size of pupils, strategically on each lense.
They were placed so that a person at conversation's length from me
would see my pupils blotted by the love-hearts.
I too could look directly at them and not see their eyes.
