sonicPlanet II - microWAVE 'em all!
If you're familiar with sonicPlanet I, you already know the structure of this CD.

the categories.

All instruments on this CD-ROM are saved as TTi-files for the EWS64 or compatible cards. We put them into 20 categories that makes it easier for you to find a specific sound for your need. If you're familiar with sonicPlanet I, you will see more or less the same structure here:

description

28

Ambient sounds and fx-stacks, e.g. for long intros or background athmos.
Basses

34

22

Hard, agressive, and metallic bass instruments.

12

Warm and bright basses that are fat in your mix but also "thin" enough to combine 'em with kicks and other low instruments.

15

The bells. This category offers nice melody sounds only.

7

Warm and hard synthesizer-brasses.

2

A complete GM compatible drumkit with percussive microWAVE instruments. There is one variation for use on MIDI-channel 10 (incl. EXCLUSION-GROUPS).

18

Sounds you´ve always looked for! :-) Hard 'n heavy, metallic and more or less evil effects. Try to combine some of 'em together with other instruments by using the MERGE-function of Ed!son (LOAD-INSTRUMENT-dialog).

16

Percussive instruments and FX-percussions.

7

Organs, ... yes. ;)
Pads

64

25

This category gives you more complex instruments based on pulsating LFO sweeps or stacks of pads and loop-samples, as well as eventful sounds.

11

Here are instruments for use in the background of your mix.

13

This is a tribute to old synthesizers like the Solina or old Rolands. But ... is a microWAVE not vintage enough ...? :-)

15

Offers a collection of synthetic and wavetable typic choir sounds.

17

A bunch of very colourful synthetic keyboards.
Sequencer

38

20

These instruments are for speeding up your arrangements with fast played melody lines. Play them very short and use realtime controllers on the filter (MIDI controler # 71 and #74) for best performance.

18

Here you'll find more softer instruments. Tip for all sequencer sounds: using a tempo delay makes them a lot more interesting.
Synthesizer

95

9

Instruments that are useful for Drum & Bass mixes and House. Using filters in realtime (MIDI controller # 71 and #74) sounds also very interesting over here.

26

Offers hard and percussive sounds that you can use as melody instruments in front of your mix. There are also these typical wavetable-scans in this category.

30

Sounds for the use as warmer melody instruments in front of your mix.

30

Warm, nice and partwise more percussive instruments for your inspiration. Interesting fact: most of the "highlights" in this category is coming from the good old (analog ...) microWAVE 1. :-)

The following pages give you a detailed description of any instrument regarding filesize, the number of simultanously used voices per note and a table with the use of memory in percent. This belongs to how many sample RAM you have installed on your EWS: 4MB-, 16MB-, 32MB- or a 64MB SIMM.

It was not easy to find the right category for each sound using the same structure as sonicPlanet I. Anyway, we're quite happy with this solution 'cause we added some hints and links to other, similar categories. You'll find 'em on the top of the following tables.
