MICKEYSPACE BIO

Mickey has been an active industry member for almost two decades, having started djing as a mobile dj in the late 80's/ early 90's, while promoting for various clubs. He then progressed to djing at large island parties in Thailand having spent nearly eight years on Koh Tao, creating and running the most creative and underground alternative to the full moon party - Venus Park.

His reputation on Koh Tao earned him the opportunity to dj at several clubs in Bangkok aswell as guest spots at the full moon party in Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. Now back in Melbourne Mickey has had several guest slots at various underground parties and festivals including the Earthcore Carnival.

Mickey currently has 2 weekly residencies:

Fridays @ the Champagne Lounge: Reunion, a retro night featuring hits from the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s. Commenced 17/06/05
Saturdays @ the Hyde: playing sexy electro & funky house to Melbourne’s elite clubbing/bar goers. Commenced 28/08/05

Mickey’s genres spread across the whole board, his main focus is to play the right tunes to the crowd, a vital attribute to any successful dj, which he achieves superbly, often being able to blend quite a variety of styles into the one set.

Nov & Dec 2005 - Thursdays @ the City Century Tavern (Novotel) in Glen Waverley, playing alongside percussionist Chris Beatz: mixing their unique blend of funk, tribal, latin & nu jazz house.
October 2005 – State finalist @ futuredj national dj competition.
August 5th 2005 – Guest dj @ Brainstorm session #7, Republica.
August 3rd 2005 – Designed the soundtrack and mixed it live for “Fusion” art fashion show at Melbourne Uni.
March – August 2005 – “canvas”, monthly residency @ the lounge together with dj’s Snowie, Luko, Lil’ Stormer & Brain.
June 2005 – Invited by “due lupi productions” to headline @ the Loft (Canberra’s premier club) & @ debauchery 5 bush party alongside dj Luko as Phunkaliscious
May 2005 – Guest dj @ Go Digger Go party @ public office.
April 15th 2005 – Dj at “plastic intelligence” RMIT union arts major art fashion event.
March – April – weekly residency @ birra bella playing funky & prog. house.
2004/2005 – Bi monthly Saturday dj @ the Retreat.
Nov. 2004 - Played at Earthcore Carnival, Hydra stage, supporting big names such as Hallucinogen, GMS, Raja Ram, Freq nasty, etc.
Sep. 2004 & July 2005- Guest dj at Club Mystique, Bangkok’s finest new club.
April - July 2004 - Ran a monthly party called “Sensual” at Ace Morning club, djing and organizing the event.
1997 - 2004 - Ran Koh Tao’s biggest parties, djed at all the major venues on Koh Tao inc: Venus Park, Venus Bar, Whitening club, Intouch, Moonlight, AC & Jungle Club.
Djed at Koh Phangan Full Moon Party 3 times : at Backyard, Big Boom and Cactus Club. Djed at the Jungle Club in Koh Samui.
Djed at Hyper & OM trance club soi4 silom and Baobab, Sukhumvit in Bangkok.
Sept 1997 – Dj’d @ “Melrose Place”, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Nov. 1997 - Djed at a Full Moon Party in the desert outside Pushkar, India.
