To run netpd (as helped by netpd user syntax_tn)
Create a (empty) folder called patches in your netpd folder
click on "creator" button in bottom-right of chat screen
There should be some files listed in red at bottom of "creator" window
under title "upload status"
click on "netload patch" button in the now open "creator" windowgo to patches folder on your computer and choose one
it should no show up in red in your "creator" window
under the title "download status"4

Had to adjust volume to hear anything
typed "alsamixer" in terminal window to open up volume control in linux
