You will have to navigate to where you had copied your netpd_plus_instruments folder onto your HDD...
Hopefully you will now be connected. The chat.pd window is where you type your conversations with others who are jamming. My nick name is sqgl_w7, you can change yours later with the pref button whenever you like. Just remember the cursor does not blink and that you must hit ENTER on your keyboard and the save & close button. Here I am the only client (1 clients) but if it says there are other clients connected, don't believe it. The list button tells you who is really connected.
The misreported number of connections is an annoyance but necessary because Roman (the developer) is refreshing his chat window every 5 minutes on the server in order to check that it has not crashed (and be alerted by email if it has crashed). One day he might figure a different way of keeping an eye on it without this undesirable side effect.
