Play in NetPD

We don't need to see the PD-extended window anymore...

If you are the only person connected then the unpatch window will be empty like here, otherwise you will have a listed of patches (aka instruments) listed in red after about 30 seconds. Even if there are already instruments loaded the next few steps tell you how to load one of your own choice.

Like before, you will have to navigate to where you had copied your netpd_plus_instruments folder onto your HDD...

Go deeper down into your directory tree...

and deeper...

Double click to see and manipulate master...

Click once onto the far left. It is the PLAY button even though it does not look like one. This is also where you can change the tempo (in Beats Per Minute) if you like.

It looks more like a button now that it is playing...

A bassline is an obvious first sound to want to add so let us find and load/unpatch the bass instrument/patch...

The font is tiny unfortunately but I have described it in its accompanying txt file but for now all you need to known is that it has a built in sequencer which you access by clicking on "unstep".

It is a conventional piano-roll style layout and a similar "unstep" sequencer is used for other instruments.

Add a note anywhere (in this case it is a G# note on the sixth of the thirty two steps)...

but it sounds staccato and cheap until you lengthen the decay (which is the third of the three possible parameters chosen at the bottom of the window)...

Drag the slider for that note up. The fine resolution makes it is a bit tricky accurately findling the handle for the slider (the cursor will change when you do).

You can do a lot more but for now I suggest simply adding a few more notes then proceeding to the next tutorial showing how to add effects.
